Ironbridge adviser Dan Thompson has undertaken the momentous challenge of running 10 kilometres in every country in the world before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He is no stranger to big challenges having successfully founded the Gold Challenge, in which over 105,000 people participated in the lead up to the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics in London.
Dan will start at the Olympic Park in London and finish at the Olympic stadium in Tokyo. In his own words: ‘2020 kilometres from London to Tokyo via every country in the world. God help me.’
So far 31 countries have been tackled, with East Africa coming soon, where he plans to go for his longest and toughest trip yet: 9 countries in 9 days.
