ICS Learn is the world’s oldest distance learning business having been founded in 1890 and currently has over 10,000 students enrolled studying a wide variety of courses.

IBCP participated in the acquisition of the business in 2012 and has been actively involved in helping the business restructure and transition from a print based distribution model to a blend of print and digital delivery.

2018; Ironbridge announced the sale of portfolio company ICS Learn.  Ironbridge partners invested in ICS Learn in 2012 in a pre-pack administration alongside Par Equity and Angus Macdonald.  David Alexander, an Ironbridge operating partner, was actively involved in the strategic direction and transformation of the business from a print-based distance learning company to one of the UK’s leading e-learning businesses with over 15,000 students covering both high school and professional qualifications.  Ironbridge led the implementation of the exit strategy and after a competitive sale process using Baird Capital, Primary Capital were selected as the preferred partner to support the business in its next phase of growth.  The terms of the transaction are undisclosed.
